Major League Sucker - Fantasy MLS Week 9

Round 8 of Fantasy MLS was not a good week to go heavy on defense. What with all the goal scoring. Unfortunately, without using my wildcard that's what I had to do.

Worst start (and bad luck) went to Jermaine Taylor getting my -1 due to a bad red card.

Taylor got his red card rescinded but I went ahead and dropped him early week to make sure I wasn't caught off with the Wednesday night New York Red Bulls vs. Colorado Rapids game.

Planned ahead and got Robbie Rogers for a bit more than Taylor ($7.2M to $6.2M) because he's been playing well and there is a double game week in LA Galaxy's near future. Also had money stockpiled.

Didn't make any other significant transfers for this week's DGW. But since NYRB is playing well I wanted to keep the option for points alive, so I swapped Captain Dax McCarty ($8.1M) for Felipe Martins ($8.4M) because I figured I had a better chance at goals that way. On Wednesday that change resulted in an extra point.

I forgot to switch the captain tag though so I'm stuck with it on Felipe where I would have finally changed it to Kei Kamara. Oh well.

Wednesday got Tommy Wears Copas well ahead with 22 points from a 1:1 draw in the actual match. Not bad.

Next week looking to maybe picking up my first Real Salt Lake or San Jose Earthquakes player at Jeb Brovsky or Davy Arnaud's expense.

I'll probably just get more Galaxy players.
